1. Introduction

The purpose of this guide is to provide a reference for documentation standards used in edX technical publications. Its intended audiences are members of the edX documentation team, other edX employees, and translation teams and open source contributors around the world.

The edX documentation team follows the Microsoft Manual of Style, 4th edition. This guide documents terms and usage choices that are not covered by the Microsoft Manual of Style. It also documents company and team decisions about usage that differ from the Microsoft Manual of Style.
